I have realized, for the first time in my life, that people are immortalized because of their flaws, not their accomplishments.

What's up with that?

If it isn't an Eastman, it isn't a Kodak

Sadly, just another note along the trail of technologies (the robots?) secret war of planned obsolescence:

The Eastman Kodak Company announced Monday it would retire Kodachrome.

Predictably, the very first line of the New York Times article is a reference to Paul Simon's song. Tired.

too bad they don't fit into my browser window then
I'm quite sick of compression borking my pictures up - it is really worth just clicking on each image, cause otherwise you're looking at crap. Ler sigh.

As much as a wooden boat is a pain in the ass, it sure is beautiful.
The paint ain't too bad- blues a good colour on you.
We're making progress on the boat, slowly but surely. The rain on Sunday swept in and graciously gave us a day off, but so far so good.

We have two or three coats on the mizzen (above)

Two coats on the new waterline (please note that the paint was cheap at a store-closing sale, I did not choose it!)

And I think we have 4 or 5 coats on the main mast, booms, and spreaders.

Nevermind all the brightwork we've done on the top sides.. Now we just need to get the bottom of the hull painted!
