Over at tony's I saw a comment from a
fellow looking for site hits. He is donating $1 for every hit he gets on this day, December 10th, 2003 (up to $1000). The money goes to a local food bank.
As of right now it
looks like he is at 639, so you still have a chance to do something good today, if only in the form of one hundred pieces of copper for the poor.
And in other news,
Tony is griping about the finale of Average-Joe. I didn't watch the show but I am familiar with the concept. The thing that is somewhat shocking to me is that the girl was aware of the millions her average joe had when she made the final decision to go for the pretty boy. Tony asks us what we're supposed to learn from that and you know, I'm not sure. Someone, somewhere, could probably spin it as a triumph of the human heart.. as how love transcends.. as how money isn't everything.
And they'd be as sincere as that Citibank commercial where a kid is flying a kite on the beach and then it cuts to the Citibank logo and they tell us money isn't everything, and that we should live life. Isn't that another way of saying we shouldn't worry about our credit card debt and that we should just spend spend spend more?
